2048 Dogs Tips & Tricks

These beginner-friendly tips will help you get past the tiles that keep tripping you up and start reaching higher dogs more consistently.

Keep Your Highest Tile in a Corner

Pick one corner and try to always keep your biggest dog tile parked there. This gives you a stable anchor to build around instead of chasing merges across the whole board.

Build in One Direction

Favor two directions (for example, only ever moving up and left) instead of using all four freely. This keeps your tiles organized in rows and columns instead of scattered.

Don't Chase Merges Randomly

It's tempting to make any move that merges tiles, but a merge that breaks your corner strategy can cost you the game later. Think one move ahead before you commit.

Watch Your Free Spaces

The board only has 16 spaces. If you're down to your last couple of open spaces, prioritize moves that free up room over moves that just chase a small merge.
