The Core Rules Are Identical
Sliding, merging, and the goal of reaching the top tile all work exactly the same way as classic 2048. If you know the corner strategy or zigzag pattern from the original game, it applies directly here.
Visual Recognition Is Easier
Numbers can blur together at a glance, especially at higher values like 512 vs 1024. Dog tiles are visually distinct characters, which many players find easier to scan quickly — a small but real advantage when you're making fast decisions.
The Emotional Pull Is Different
Merging two numbers into a bigger number is satisfying in a purely mechanical way. Merging two dogs into the next dog in the lineup adds a layer of "what does the next one look like," which keeps some players engaged for longer sessions.
